December 2011 marks the end of the war in Iraq. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta cites the casualties of the war at 4,500 killed and more than 30,000 wounded. President Obama has promised that our veterans will return to a country that "will fight as hard for them as they return home as they have done for us these past nine years".
Part of the fight is providing jobs to our veterans. As of June 2011, the unemployment rate for post 9/11 veterans was 13.3%. This figure will certainly increase with the return of the remaining soldiers stationed in Iraq.
