OFCCP Rescinds Directive 261 and Discontinues Recognition Program

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has issued a new directive, number 312, to rescind Directive 261. The February 2, 2004 Directive, number 261, governing the agency’s Exemplary Voluntary Efforts (EVE), Exemplary Public Interest Contribution (EPIC) and the Secretary of Labor’s Opportunity Awards. 

The OFCCP "is currently exploring innovative ways of recognizing federal contractors and community-based organizations for their efforts in promoting equal employment opportunity and affirmative action and will issue guidance in the near future."
