National Day of Remembrance

Source: USA.gov

Tomorrow at 8:46 AM Eastern Daylight time, by presidential proclamation, Americans are called on to participate in a moment of silence to commemorate the nearly 3,000 people who died as a result of the terrorist attacks on United States soil.

There are additional ways to honor the victims of 9/11; as part of the National Day of Service and Remembrance: many service and remembrance activities are planned throughout the United States that will support and honor veterans, soldiers, military families, and first responders. Some examples are:

  • Painting and refurbishing homes;
  • Reclaiming neighborhoods;
  • Collecting food and assembling care packages; and
  • Writing thank you notes to members of the military or protective services.
